Sandy is the President of E & B Safety Consulting Inc , Sandy started her career almost 20 years ago and has had the opportunity of working in both very large and very small law firms when working for various lawyers. Since 2000, Sandy has had the opportunity of working with carriers of all types and sizes and enjoys the unique challenges that each carrier may bring.

Sandy has continued to her education specific to the transportation industry in that she obtained her Fleet Driver Trainer certification in 2004 as well as her designation as a Certified Risk Manager in January of 2008.

Some of you may recall that Sandy was the original “B” in E & B Paralegal, a company which she co-owned with Jodi Burness until January of 2008. E & B Paralegal Inc. offered a wide variety of services to clients including representation in Provincial Offences Court, as well as assistance with log auditing and regulatory compliance issues. As a result of new licensing and areas of practice regulations imposed in January of 2008, it became necessary for Jodi and Sandy to create two separate and distinct companies. The paralegal services once provided by E & B Paralegal Inc. are now offered through Burness Paralegal Professional Corporation. The compliance issues will still be handled by Sandy Baigent at E & B Safety Consulting Inc.

Sandy is a strong advocate of carrier education and self-reliance. Sandy takes a proactive approach in terms of assisting carriers in creating effective policies and procedures that will assist a carrier in demonstrating that it is being diligent in the eyes of the Ministry and the Courts. Sandy, acting as a consultant on behalf of a carrier, has been involved in Ministry interventions or sanctions including facility audits and Show Cause Hearings. Speaking engagements have played a large role in this education process and this is something that she enjoys tremendously.

In her non-existent spare time, Sandy helps her husband run the family dairy farm as well as raising their three sons. Sandy tries to find the time to visit with her friends and family.
